Opus 5.5 can do a lot, even at low effort.

Fable was the first model that felt strong enough to use as a “boss” for long-running agentic sessions, but Anthropic has really cooked up something special with Opus 5.5. Maybe it’s because I don’t spend that much time on the “Twitterverse”, but this is the first time I’ve seen a model come up with a video like the one in John Knopf’s post: when I was a kid this was science fiction. i've watched AI type for years, but hearing it and seeing what it made is a whole different level.
i asked @claudeai opus 5.5 to introduce itself, however it wanted without any token usage restrictions and access to any api it wanted.…
While this is still clearly an AI production, I like this style and enjoy it a lot more than the typical YouTube vibe-produced slop. The content is also touching – it reaches into how many of us use Claude and other tools, and also raises questions of awareness and consciousness as well.
Opus 5.5 can accomplish a lot, even at lower effort levels. Using Claude Code: Spending your effort is a good guide that goes more into depth about this. Using ClaudeAnimationBase, Opus 5.5 was able to create this video in just a couple of minutes, on low effort:
Given one initial prompt and some fine-tuning, Claude came up with the script, music, and sound effects. Most of the time was actually spent on encoding the video.
